🔬🌍 Science This Week 🌍🔬 This week in Science, Year 1 and Year 2 used all the knowledge we have learnt this term to answer our big question: “Why do animals live in different places?” The children chose a habitat and carefully matched the animals that belong there. From icy polar regions to hot deserts and lush rainforests, we thought carefully about where animals would survive best. 🐪🐧🐒 The real challenge was explaining why an animal lives in that habitat! The children either told me their reasoning or wrote a sentence to explain, using what they know about food, shelter and climate. We were so impressed with their thoughtful ideas and scientific vocabulary. Listen to some of our wonderful reasons! 😊✨ #Science #Year1 #Year2 #Habitats #WorkingScientifically #AnimalAdaptations #CuriousMinds

🧺🐻 A Beary Busy Week in Foundation! 🐻🧺 It’s been a very busy and exciting week in Foundation as we’ve been learning all about the traditional tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The children decided to host their very own Teddy Bears’ Picnic — and what a wonderful week it has been! ✏️ Monday: We wrote invitations to invite our special teddy bears into school. 🛒 Tuesday: We created a shopping list for our picnic, thinking carefully about what delicious food we would need. 🧸 Wednesday: We wrote descriptions of our bears, explaining what they look like and why they are so special to us. We also made fruit kebabs, practising our fine motor skills and talking about healthy choices. In the afternoon, we enjoyed our very own Teddy Bears’ Picnic together — and it was just right! The children have shown fantastic enthusiasm, creativity and independence throughout the week. We are so proud of you, Foundation! 🌟 #FoundationStage #EYFS #GoldilocksAndTheThreeBears #TeddyBearsPicnic #LearningThroughPlay #EarlyWriting #HealthyChoices #ProudTeachers

💻🌍 Safer Internet Day 2026 🌍💻 On Tuesday, Year 1/2 took part in Safer Internet Day, where we focused on the importance of e-safety. This year’s theme was all about AI (Artificial Intelligence) and how to stay safe when using it. We began the session with lots of laughter as the children looked at staff caricatures created using AI and tried to guess who was who! 😄 We then explored what AI is and identified different types of technology and AI that the children might use at home. The children had thoughtful discussions about how to stay safe online and what to do if they ever feel unsure or unsafe. They shared some very important ideas, which we recorded in our computing books so we can revisit them and remember how to keep ourselves safe. Well done to our brilliant Computer Whizzes for their fantastic discussions and sensible ideas! 👏✨ #SaferInternetDay #OnlineSafety #ESafety #AI #Computing #Year1 #Year2 #DigitalCitizens #StaySafe
