For many years the Government has provided significant additional funding to Primary Schools to spend on Physical Education. The Government wanted to promote an enjoyment of sport and physical activity, promoting a healthy lifestyle in children from an early age. This has continued to happen every year up until the present day. Please see below to see how this has been spent and the impact it has had within the school.
Schools with 16 or fewer eligible pupils receive £1,000 per pupil Schools with 17 or more eligible pupils receive £16,000 and an additional payment of £10 per pupil.
The mechanism for payment will remain the same, with schools receiving 7/12ths of funding in Oct/Nov and the remaining 5/12ths in April/May. Please see below for the proposed allocation of the budget.
