5th January partial school closure

Dear Parents and Carers

You will no doubt have heard that schools are to be closed from tomorrow, with the majority of children learning at home. I am sure you will have many questions, some of which we are unable to answer at this point, but I wanted to get the following information out to you as soon as possible.

Obviously, we had started planning towards this, but then Boris Johnson made an early announcement, and so we do need a bit of time to catch up with the practicalities.

For the next few weeks, School is closed to all except Critical Workers, those with a social worker and children with EHCPs.

Plans for tomorrow

For tomorrow, (Tuesday) if you have absolutely no other choice as a critical worker you may send your child in, including breakfast and after school club.

This will mean that the leadership team can make plans for the children of critical workers going forward and organise the many other things which need to be put into place.

Children with a social worker and those with an EHCP may attend tomorrow.

Plans from Weds onwards:

Tomorrow we will look at the critical worker forms and identify order of priority of need (i.e. roles that are critical to the provision of essential services only and are not working from home). The point of the lockdown is to minimise people mixing and being out and about, therefore, if you can make any other provision for your child, including your support bubble, and apart parents, please help us all, and do so. We will be making phone calls tomorrow to families and clarifying what the circumstances are and level of need. The smaller the groups in school and the less mixing, the more we are protecting children, staff and the wider community - please bear with us if we ask you for clarification, or we seek confirmation from an employer.

Home Learning

Please start using the packs which we sent home last term, over this week, and our other online services such as Bug Club, TT Rock Stars, My Maths etc, and over the next few days we will be getting our online learning up and running.

Forms sent out today

Please complete these fully (and the second page where relevant) and get these back to us asap.

These are very worrying times, but we are sure that by pulling together as we did in the spring and summer, we will get through this period. My thoughts are with you all tonight.

Kind Regards

Mrs Hardisty
